From bestselling author Lila DiPasqua comes a scorching new historical romance novella in the acclaimed Fiery Tales series! An emotional, erotically charged retelling of Hans Christian Andersen’s The Little Match Girl.

As childhood friends, Leopold d’Ermart and Suzanne Matchet were inseparable. One unforgettable Christmas Eve, their relationship changed from the best of friends…to lovers. But the heir of the Duke of Mont-Marly isn’t supposed to fall in love with the daughter of his family’s physician. Or vice versa.

Is this a second chance at first love?

Years later, Suzanne is dreading her first Christmas without her father. The heartbreak Leo caused when he left seven years ago is a distant memory. And she prefers to keep it that way. The last thing Suzanne expects is for tall, dark, and sinfully seductive Leo d’Ermart to show up at her door and announce he wants her back in his life. And in his bed. Worse, the now celebrated libertine is even more devastating to a woman’s senses than ever before…

Or are they playing with fire?

The only woman Leo, Duke of Mont-Marly, has ever yearned for is the adorably unconventional, intelligent beauty who got away. He discovers Suzanne creating and selling matchsticks, elixirs for the ill…and is still so damned alluring. Leo is determined to show her the depth of his desire, win back Suzanne’s heart. And give her a Christmas beyond her wildest imagination…

UNDONE is only 99 cents--for a LIMITED TIME!

Yes, dearest readers, UNDONE is now only 99 cents, for a limited time! If you don't have a copy, I hope you'll indulge in this sale.

UNDONE is erotically charged and the most emotional historical romance I've written to date.

Want to find out what happens after Rapunzel is rescued from the tower?
It's more than you could ever imagine! This fairy tale has NEVER been retold like this.

Praise for the Fiery Tales:

"Evocative, erotic & wickedly passionate . . ." -- SYLVIA DAY, New York Times bestselling author

"Lushly erotic, and deeply romantic." -- ELIZABETH HOYT, New York Times bestselling author

"Sure to delight!" -- JENNIFER ASHLEY, New York Times bestselling author

"Hot enough to warm the coldest winter night." -- Publishers Weekly

Inspired by the tale of Rapunzel, Lila DiPasqua offers a new steamy, emotionally charged historical romance in the acclaimed Fiery Tales Series . . . Rescuing this beauty from the 'tower' is only the beginning . . .

Maintaining her ruse as a commoner, and trusting no one has kept Angelica safe. But a chance encounter with a handsome stranger lands her right where danger lies. Now, this sinfully handsome man with arresting blue eyes and a polished manner thinks he's saved her life, when in fact he's placed her in great peril. She's intent on keeping him and everyone else at arm's length. Yet, the smoldering attraction between them is difficult to deny. And impossible to ignore . . .

As commander of a number of privateer ships, Simon Boulenger dresses and speaks like an aristocrat, and has obtained wealth. But he is still not a noble. Or an officer in the King's Navy. His lifelong dream to elevate himself from his station of birth and attain a respectable place in society is dead. Worse, he's ensnared in a deadly scheme, and must get out. But how is he to stay focused on his dangerous mission when the mysterious beauty has him utterly intrigued? He can't afford the distraction any more than he can resist the carnal hunger she stirs. Simon soon discovers that she's not only a passionate soul mate, but a woman born into privilege. A woman he can never have. But they're in too deep. Their hearts are at risk . . . as well as their lives.

'Tis the season for giving . . .a black dog.

Top Ten Reasons To Adopt A Black Dog:

1.    We cannot clash with your furniture or clothing, and some of you actually worry about that.
2.    We cannot clash with any collar you might choose either! Ditto for bandannas. Accessorize us!
3.    Ease of vacuuming! You can quickly spot the areas of most urgent need.
4.    Excellent night walk protection, the "bad guy" won't see us til it's too late!
5.    We hide dirt well (doesn't mean we don't need that bath after a messy play, but your guests won't be able to see it so quickly).
6.    We make an excellent "backdrop" for a second, more colorful dog if you choose to have more than one.
7.    Availability! We are available now at every shelter you can imagine, in every age bracket, no long waiting lists, no long search!
8.    Status symbol potential. Black pearls are the most costly you know....
9.    No annoying queries "what kind of dog is that" people are content with "big black dog" and don't ask!
10.    We need you!

'Tis the season for giving. If you're considering getting or giving a pet this season, I hope you'll take a second look at black dogs (and/or cats). I've talked about this before, as unfortunately these wonderful animals do get passed over because of their black coat. Sadly, there's such a thing as BBDS - BIG BLACK DOG SYNDROME. They don't take good pictures.

This is the actual photo of our dog Rocky posted online by the animal shelter.

Not exactly the best pic I've seen of our pup. (Though this is no criticism to those who do such a dedicated and amazing job at the animal shelters here in Toronto.)  Often, a black dog's lovely features aren't easy to capture in a photograph, and people will skip over them when browsing online.

In the shelters, it's just as bad. Because of their dark coat, black dogs get overlooked. Their more light-colored canine friends are more likely to stand out.

Our one year old Rocky (a Black Lab/German Sheppard mix).

We adopted him from a local shelter Sept. 29th. He is 65 pounds of love and loyalty. And he inspires smiles everywhere he goes. I hope you'll treat yourself or someone you know to a Rocky of your own this holiday season.

You'll be giving a pet a second chance--and his/her new owners a whole lot of joy.

NOTE: The list above is not mine. It's found HERE. It's a great way to raise awareness! :)

SQUEEE! A MIDNIGHT DANCE hits the shelves (in Japanese) this Saturday!

And it's already made Amazon (Japan)'s bestselling lists

I'm proud of all my books, but this one holds a special spot in my heart. I can't tell you how many charts and sticky notes it took to write its complex plot with all its twists and turns.

But it was a labor of love. And I adore Sabine and Jules.

I couldn't be more thrilled by the reaction of readers to this book. It's gone into second printing, and it's been nominated for a number of awards for Best Historical Erotic Romance.

And now, with this coming Saturday, I get to scandalize a whole new country with my steamy retelling of Cinderella. *wicked grin*

Here's the Japanese cover!

Here's the original cover by Penguin:

Lila's & Delilah's Birthday Bash!

Mr. D here! This is a great day, and we're going to celebrate!  I'm totally excited because today is not only my lovely wife's birthday, but her good friend and wonderful author, Delilah Marvelle's birthday, too! (See, I even dressed up for the occasion and brought along our dog, Rocky) He's all smiles.
Best of all, I've got Mr. Marvelle here with me and together we're throwing our special ladies a birthday bash---WITH PRIZES!

Lila and Delilah struck up an instant friendship when they met years ago at one of the RWA conferences. It was then that they learned they had a lot in common. Like their birthdays---and great taste in men.----Those are Lila's and Delilah's words, I swear.

(Looks over at Mr. Marvelle and sees him nodding.)

Mr. Marvelle is a great guy (and I'm not just saying this because he's standing here). A real Romance Husband who supports his wife every step of the way! I had a blast interviewing him for one of my Romance Husband interviews. (You can read that interview HERE.)

Welcome back, Mr. Marvelle!  Great to see you again! Before we get to our prizes, I've just got to ask you a few questions.  ----Hey, I'm Mr. D. That's what I do. :)

Your wife's book trailer for FOREVER A LORD is AMAZING! What was it like starring as Lord Atwood in the trailer? I heard from Lila that it was brutal.
Mr. Marvelle: It *was* brutal. But I wouldn't take a moment of it back (I swear). Because Delilah's hero in FOREVER A LORD is a bareknuckle boxer, getting into the sort of shape she wanted me to be in for the book trailer was eye opening. I've always been in great shape and run marathons and do Tae Kwon Do, but this took me to a whole new level. I had to hit the weights in a way I haven't done in years. Of course, that was the easiest part. The brutal part was realizing that Delilah wanted me to wax the hair off my chest *wincing*. I swear to God I will never be doing it again. I don't know how women go in and get anything waxed. I bow to them. The best part, I'd say, was being able to work with my son (who plays the younger version of the hero) and my wife. We created something together as a family and the trailer basically turned into a family affair I really enjoyed every moment of. Aside from meeting a lot of new and interesting people from Victorian and Regency societies, I also learned a lot about bare knuckle boxing. Delilah had a 19th century bare knuckle boxer specialist on the set of the trailer that taught us how to properly box back in 1830. It was an amazing experience I'll never forget. Brutal, yes, but amazing.

Mr. D:  I'll say it again: You are one awesome Romance Husband, Mr. Marvelle. What a great family project! Is there a story behind the 'inspiration' of Delilah's upcoming Christmas Anthology, ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS A DUKE?
Mr. Marvelle: Let me just say that Delilah's favorite holiday has always been Christmas. She goes all out every year. From decorating the house and the tree and advent calendars and cookies. She even makes us all watch It's a Wonderful Life, Elf, Home Alone, and A Christmas Carol every year (and we never complain). She kept saying she wanted to write a Christmas story, but was waiting for something 'special' to hit. That hit happened during the summer when we were re-watching 'THE GRADUATE'. She popped up and said, "An older woman and a younger man set during Dickens Era Christmas. I'm doing it. And I'm totally calling her Mrs. Robinson. Because I have to." So there you have it. I was there when inspiration hit. The Graduate apparently has Christmas connotations. Though don't ask me where those Christmas themes are.

Mr. D: That is so cool! Last question: What is (in your opinion) the best and worst Christmas present you ever gave your wife?

Mr. Marvelle: I'd like to think that I would never be stupid enough to give my wife a present she could define as 'worst'...Though I will say over the years of our marriage, I quickly learned that kitchenware was never quite as popular with Delilah as diamond earrings and facials. Who knew.

Mr. D: Yeah, power tools don't go over well either. LOL

Mr. Marvelle: Okay, Mr. D, it's my turn to ask *YOU* some questions. I heard from Delilah that you actually inspired your wife, Lila, to write her Christmas Novella, THE DUKE'S MATCH GIRL. That's really cool and says a lot about how closely we as husbands work with our wives 'behind the scenes.' Tell me more about what inspired the 'inspiration' of The Duke's Match Girl.

Mr. D: Like Delilah, Lila's favorite holiday is Christmas, too. We have a ten foot tree plus a foot tall angel on top and every branch is covered with ornaments. We really go all out with the decorations, both inside the house and out--though the neighbors don't get my humor when I tied a Santa to the chimney one year, but that's another story. Lila has always wanted to write a Christmas Fiery Tale. And she's always loved, The Little Match Girl. She and I were at a coffee shop chatting about it, and an idea struck her. A grown up romantic version of that famous Christmas fairy tale---with a happy ending of course.

Mr. Marvelle:  I understand you read all your wife's books before they come out. Can you tell me what you think of THE DUKE'S MATCH GIRL. How does it compare to her latest novel, UNDONE?

Mr. D: UNDONE and THE DUKE'S MATCH GIRL are both emotional, hot reads. UNDONE is a full length novel that has a very special heroine with special circumstances in her life. This Rapunzel retelling has touched many readers and moved them to tears. With THE DUKE'S MATCH GIRL, Lila has written a novella with a beloved story theme: second chances. The hero, Leo, Duke of Mont-Marly, has done what a lot of guys have been guilty of: He totally blew it with a great girl, and lost her. Years later, he's never been able to forget her. Leo wants Suzanne back. And this Christmas, he's going to do everything it takes to make his one and only Christmas wish come true. Have her back in his life and bed. Add a whole lot of sexual heat, the Christmas season, a scientifically-minded heroine, and some quirky/fun secondary characters and you've got a recipe for a novella I think readers will love. :)

Mr. Marvelle: Sounds great! Have you ever gotten Lila a bad birthday or Christmas gift, one she didn't like.

Mr. D: Let's just say, a smart man learns very quickly how to please his woman. :)
Okay, folks, you've just GOT to check out Mr. Marvelle and son in Delilah's upcoming novel, FOREVER A LORD! They're fantastic in it! Well done, Marvelles!

A very HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Lila and Delilah!
